Blake Austin College – Beauty and Wellness Academy was chosen by CBS and The CW Televisions Networks as the Northern California’s host for America’s Next Top Model Casting Call. This highly popular nationally syndicated reality television series was renewed for its twenty-first cycle on October 18th, 2013. Originally premiering in May of 2003, America’s Next Top Model stars Supermodel Tyra Banks, who is both the Executive Producer and Presenter.
After meeting with the Promotions Director of CBS and the CW, it was decided that the modern, state-of-the-art Academy, was a perfect fit for both parties. “With over 18,000 square feet of space, including our luxurious boutique, spa and salon, it was a natural decision for us to partner with the television network to host the casting call,” says Joanie Reed, Owner of Blake Austin College. “Additionally, Vacaville provides the perfect central location for this event since we are so accessible to contestants from San Francisco, Sacramento, the Bay Area, Central Valley, Napa, Nevada, Oregon and beyond.”
The highest rated series on the CW for several years in a row, America’s Next Top Model is syndicated to NBC Universal’s cable division, Oxygen and Style networks and has also been shown on MTV, Bravo and VH1. Each cycle of the show brings new twists and themes to keep the viewers intrigued, most recently introducing male contestants in the mix. The models that are cast in the show live in a house for 6 weeks with other contestants and may travel to destinations such Europe, South America, the Caribbean and Asia.
“Since many of the Blake Austin College – Beauty and Wellness Academy students want to move on to work in the TV and film industries, I am so happy to be able to provide them with this experience,” says Reed. “I am also very excited that as one of the 7 national locations chosen, Vacaville will be spotlighted on this show, attracting contestants from all over the United States which will help our local economy and essentially put our community on the map.”
