At Blake Austin College, the Clinical Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy program prepares you to perform many duties related to patient care. Under the training of our highly experienced and educated team of instructors, you will succeed in this program and be offered support through your externship and certification.
The Blake Austin Clinical Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy training offers an exciting and challenging entry point into the clinical laboratory environment. You will learn about the general body systems such as skeletal, muscular, lymphatic, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, and reproductive. You will also learn how to perform common routine tests in a medical laboratory for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In addition, you will become skilled in the latest techniques in Venipuncture, learn how pharmacology is used in conjunction with patient care and how to assist a Cardiologist with Electrocardiography, stress testing, and Holter monitors.
Once you have completed your externship you will be prepared to fulfill the State of California Licensure requirements to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1).
As a Blake Austin College graduate, you will gain your license and be able to pursue your career in hospitals, medical offices, private doctors’ offices, laboratories, clinics, and other professional settings.
