Dental Assisting Program

Dental assisting is a very important part of a professional health team.  At Blake Austin College our highly educated and experienced team of instructors is dedicated to you and your success. In our Dental Assisting program, you will receive training and learn the skills needed to be successful in related laboratory procedures as well as administrative by training in various front office skills and software.

As a dental assistant, you will be able to perform duties authorized by the Dental Board of California. Tailored to those that pay attention to detail, you will perform many chairside duties with the dentist during patient treatment and you will also perform procedures on your own, under the supervision of the dentists. Examples include taking x-rays, polishing teeth, placing pit and fissure sealants, taking impressions, pouring models, performing orthodontic procedures, fabricating temporary crowns and placing temporary fillings.

After completing the Dental Assisting program, you’ll receive licensing and will be qualified to work as a certified dental assistant and be prepared to sit for the state dental board exams to become a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
